May is still here, when the drumbeat ending the 2022-2023 school year seems to have just rung yesterday. And yet, in the blink of an eye, the vibrant summer of the Duc Tri Golden Bees has come to an end. So much exciting and fresh energy has been recharged, ready for a new school year with more sweet fruits for the teachers and students of Duc Tri School. The first times…
“The first time I made pottery. The first time I entered the military environment. The first time I waded through the fields to catch fish…” Those were the sincere but also very cute shares of the Ong Vang Duc Tri students, after each experience journey with the program “Summer of fun discovery – Confident maturity”. The past 2 summer months were a period of great effort by Duc Tri teachers, aiming to bring their students the most interesting experiences, creating a vibrant and memorable summer in their journey to maturity.
Explore Bach Ma Nature
Following the enthusiastic footsteps from previous summer courses, this summer, Ong Vang Duc Tri had the opportunity to "cross the pass" and explore a new land called Bach Ma National Park. The 2-day-1-night journey here brought the children a lot of joy and interesting lessons. It was a lesson about independence when parents were not around. It was a lesson about how to integrate into a group with many unfamiliar members. It was a lesson about majestic nature that no book could describe more vividly.
A day as an artist
Have you ever thought that you would transform into an artist. Using your artistic hands to create delicious dishes and beautiful handicrafts? Ong Vang Duc Tri has done it. With their meticulousness and dexterity, they have made delicious and beautiful banh xeo and banh loc by themselves. Duc Tri's own pottery kiln has also been built to help them experience pottery making, creating beautiful cups and bowls. Through this activity, it can be seen that Ong Vang has the ability to learn and grasp very quickly. In just one short day, they have observed, remembered and created the finished product with their own hands.
Experience as a soldier
Growing up is a long journey and each experience will make us more mature than yesterday. This summer, Ong Vang Duc Tri had a very special experience at Regiment 971. The 2-day-1-night journey of experiencing and living in the army helped them cultivate many skills and noble qualities of a soldier.
With what you have experienced, Duc Tri believes that this summer has brought you many more emotions and memorable memories. The lessons of forging will, training the spirit, and nurturing perseverance that you have experienced will be the luggage for you to overcome all difficulties and challenges in the future.
A day as a farmer
Summer is spent running around in vast fields, bathing in cool streams or getting dirty with fishing games in the fields. These seem to be activities only for students in rural areas. However, in the heart of this city, Ong Vang Duc Tri students have also experienced these activities with the summer program "Experience being a farmer" at Duc Tri Practical Garden.
Besides the fun activities, they also help farmers grow vegetables, harvest corn, eggplants, etc. Each activity is a very meaningful first time, helping them learn many interesting things and understand more about the hardships of farmers.
Educating students to develop comprehensively through each experience
2 months is not short but not too long for students to experience all the interesting things in life. However, with the desire to create diverse experiences for students in many fields and many different jobs, the programs have been organized continuously and interspersed during the summer, attracting a large number of students inside and outside the school to participate enthusiastically. The programs are also spread out for students from grade 1 to grade 9 with activities that are suitable for their ability, helping students have plenty of time and suitable space to explore the outside world.
In addition to fun and experiential activities, in class, students also experience different learning models. Changing learning methods and applying new methods help students learn more proactively. These include: Practice making and reporting STEM products by grade, classrooms without walls, group learning, etc. In addition, summer physical training programs such as swimming and basketball are also focused on, helping students have better health and spirit to prepare for the new school year.
Through these activities, students will be able to improve their skills, learn new knowledge and have the opportunity to meet and connect with more friends. Duc Tri School also wants to teach students the core values that the school has built, including:
