Take a walk around the ecological garden

More than 60 children from 2 classes: Kindergarten (3 years old) and Leaf (5 years old) with their teachers are present at the ecological garden of Duc Tri Kindergarten - Primary - Secondary School. This garden is located close to the south of Hai Van Pass, the turnoff to Suoi Luong tourist area. In the garden, there are all kinds of fruit trees, green trees, flowers and animals that are friendly to nature and people.

The younger group was guided by the teachers to observe and comment on the shape and personality of the rabbit running around in the cage. The older group was able to observe and comment on oranges and grapefruits, their shapes, sizes, colors, etc., things that they had just seen, heard, and become familiar with through books. Then the teacher peeled the oranges and grapefruits for the children to eat so they could learn more about the taste and smell.

Mr. John Dewey is an American philosopher and educational reformer who lived from the mid-late 19th century. He has a famous saying: “Experience is the process of interaction between people and the environment”. Simply put, if people want to have knowledge and good life skills, they must know how to integrate into the surrounding environment. The philosophical content from more than a century ago still has current value for education, especially for children's education in every country today, including Vietnam.

I asked principal Le Thi Nga if there was any primary school in Da Nang that had an ecological garden like this. She just smiled and said nothing.

When I got home, I turned on Google and asked again "Elementary kindergarten ecological garden", and only Duc Tri's name appeared!

That means not only in Da Nang, but it can be affirmed that in the whole country, there is no school that has its own ecological garden like Duc Tri school!

Anyone who studies and works at this school is so proud!
