On the morning of February 27, 2018, students in grades 6 and 7 participated in a practical lesson at Duc Tri Practice Garden with the topic of interdisciplinary integrated teaching (Biology, Geography, Civic Education, Technology, Literature and Information Technology) through the lesson "Plants and ecological environment".
Children are exposed to the garden's ecological environment, explore and research content according to group assignments. Individuals collect content and images, then discuss, agree and complete the group's harvest report.The children can also enjoy playing and living in the fresh natural atmosphere and full of spring colors of the garden.
The lesson helps students gain more information and practical knowledge about the ecological environment, not only in books but also in real life. Through the experience of researching and studying plants in the garden, observing and distinguishing parts of vegetative and reproductive organs on trees, seeing with their own eyes plants with taproots and fibrous roots, parts of the trunk, types of leaves and how leaves are arranged on trees, types of flowers, fruits, seeds... they understand the connection and mutual support in a plant community to develop with the love and care of humans to rise up. The benefits of a practice garden are not only the source of harvesting plants, vegetables, fruits, chicken, fish, pigs, etc., but it also plays an important role in creating landscapes and ecological environments for an entire region when environmental pollution is at risk of spreading. From the knowledge learned in class, through practice, students will understand more deeply and broadly, explain many phenomena in practice and draw more meaningful conclusions in life.
After the lesson ends, the groups will complete their summary writing and present it using Power Point software, with information and images. The lesson becomes rich and useful, helping students increase their solidarity, active cooperation and eagerness to explore nature. From there, they will be educated on many practical issues in life, communication skills, presentation, independent working spirit and coordination... In particular, learning will become easier and more convenient. Integrated education is truly more effective.
