VNA – Creating conditions for teachers and students to exchange, study, develop their talents, and help students gain experience, the Da Nang Education sector has made innovations in extracurricular activities by integrating many creative activities and scientific discoveries into the teaching program. Thereby, helping students demonstrate their full skills, become the masters of the activities, and bring positive results in the teaching and learning process.
Innovation in organizing extracurricular activities
From February 22-24, Duc Tri Kindergarten - Primary and Secondary School Organized the Experience - Creativity Festival. The festival included many interesting activities such as: exhibition of 100 STEM products; experience with Robots; bilingual presentations; astronomy exploration; fun science experiments; talent test... These activities created conditions for teachers and students to share, learn, and approach STEM education; at the same time, it was an opportunity for students to experience and discover new knowledge.
Meritorious Teacher Le Thi Nga, Principal of Duc Tri Kindergarten - Primary and Secondary School, said that through these learning-while-playing and playing-while-learning activities, students can apply knowledge from books to practice, practice to practice skills and become more confident and bold to express themselves more. Through that, the school's staff and teachers also have the opportunity to study to improve their professional and technical skills.

Attending the presentation and creating STEM products with his child, the parent of Nguyen Vinh Tuong (grade 1/5, Duc Tri Kindergarten - Primary and Secondary School) expressed: "I was very surprised when participating in the Experience - Creativity festival with my child. The festival had many interesting and useful activities. There were many play corners and activities for all children to express their talents and interests. My child was very interested and passionate about the experience activities. I hope the school will have more activities like this so that the children have a useful playground."
Enjoying the STEM creative experience corner, parent of Tran Nhat Khang (grade 9/4, Duc Tri Kindergarten - Primary and Secondary School) said: “I really like the STEM creative experience corner. The children were guided by teachers to invent products from recycled materials that are very practical, creative and beautiful. In addition, the bilingual explanation activity also helps children to be confident and demonstrate their language skills.”

Fun science discovery lesson

Organize the class to become a mysterious space exploration lesson, with small experiments organized in groups. Binh Minh Kindergarten (Hai Chau District) creates conditions for children to participate in group experiments such as: fog experiment, hot air balloon experiment, air bubble experiment, globe experiment, rain experiment, day and night experiment... Especially, during the space exploration hour, children can also wear space travel costumes and experience walking in space.
According to Principal of Binh Minh Kindergarten Luong Thi Thuy Quynh, science discovery lessons, integrated into the curriculum, help children have practical experiences, explore science, and develop their own skills. These activities can be organized in many spaces, in the classroom or outside the school yard. The choice of which science discovery activities, when and where to organize them depends on the content of the topic, the educational goals that the teacher sets in accordance with the actual conditions of the class.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, teacher of Grade 2, Binh Minh Kindergarten, said that with the materials used to conduct experiments through games, teachers must practice and ensure the safety of children. Teachers need to be proficient in the skills of overseeing group activities to guide, support and explain to children. In addition, teachers need to search for and create external tools and equipment to conduct scientific experiments effectively and interestingly.
