DNO-At the Robothon and WeCode International Festival 2019 (International STEAM Challenge) held in Guangzhou (China) on November 24, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Thao, a 9/1 student from Duc Tri Primary and Secondary School, Da Nang, excellently won the championship in the advanced Wecode board programming content. This is the second year Phuong Thao has won the international championship in this category.
In addition, 3 other students Vo Duc Hieu (class 9/2), Dao Trong Kien (class 6/3) and Dinh Ngoc Hang Nga, along with students of class 5/3, Duc Tri Primary - Secondary School received medals and certificates of top 100 (advanced and intermediate WeCode boards) at the international level 2019.
Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Thao said she was very proud to win the championship for the second time. Thao is an excellent student, although she dreams of becoming a doctor in the future, she is very good at IT, so when she entered 7th grade she started learning Wecode programming and has been passionate about it ever since. "Wecode programming helps me think creatively and practice meticulousness. Being named on the international gold list twice, I feel very honored and proud," Thao shared.

According to Ms. Le Thi Nga, Principal of Duc Tri Primary and Secondary School, the school has made Stem (including Robothon and Wecode) an elective subject for students for many years now, with one class per week. Students are taught from basic to advanced levels. “Bringing this subject to students is not only for competitions but also for them to develop creative thinking,” Ms. Nga shared.
The 2019 International Robothon and Wecode Festival was held in Guangzhou, China. The Vietnamese delegation consisted of 21 robothon teams and 11 contestants participating in Wecode programming.
