Duc Tri Kindergarten - Primary and Secondary School (abbreviated as Duc Tri School) – is the first private school in Da Nang city. After 30 years of establishment and development, the school has gradually affirmed its educational quality and is a trusted place for parents in the city by the Han River.

In the late 1980s, many parents had to send their children to spontaneous childcare groups in the city. The babysitters at that time were just unemployed women and mothers, their concept of childcare was simply for a living, they had no pedagogical skills, and were not equipped with teaching materials. As a teacher at a public school, Ms. Le Thi Nga cherished the idea of opening a kindergarten, to organize a systematic education for the children.Responding to parents' urgent needs
The initial quality of teaching and learning, as well as the physical care for the children, partly met the parents' requirements. The class had an advantage over some public schools at that time in that it looked after children all day, picked up children early and dropped them off late, which was convenient for the working hours of officials and civil servants. On the other hand, the teachers of the class were all properly trained and had pedagogical methods, so more and more parents began to come every day. That signal showed that the initial steps in organizing the class were developing in the right direction, and the teachers were very excited. Meritorious teacher Le Thi Nga, Principal of Duc Tri School, said that in September 1990, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision No. 55/QD-BGDDT regulating the operating regime of family child care groups, family kindergartens, private kindergartens and private kindergartens. Although there were some constraints, this was an opportunity for teacher Le Thi Nga to realize her dream. Ms. Le Thi Nga's Duc Tri kindergarten class was established soon after with 30 children aged 3-5, taught by 3 teachers who are civil servants and officials in the education sector.

Meritorious Teacher Le Thi Nga – Principal of Duc Tri Kindergarten – Primary and Secondary School
At the end of 1993, the Ministry of Education and Training organized a large conference in Da Nang city. At a time when the whole country did not have private kindergartens, in Da Nang there was a school like that with 6 kindergarten classes and one grade 1 that was operating busily, with many parents sending their children to study, which was a strange phenomenon. The leaders of the Ministry and the provinces and cities attending the conference decided to visit and see how it was managed. "They realized that although it started out as a family kindergarten class according to the name of the license, then transformed into a pilot private school, the facilities, classrooms, teaching aids... here were relatively good, the team of teachers was professionally selected... allowing it to become a large school," Ms. Nga recalled the words of a leader. In response to the urgent need for parents to send their children, in 1992, the education and training sector of Quang Nam-Da Nang province boldly issued a decision for Duc Tri to form a private school (pilot). Delighted, Ms. Le Thi Nga immediately enrolled two kindergarten classes and one first grade class. At the same time, she renovated the garden and built more classrooms. Because of her experience in educational management and many years of teaching directly, Ms. Nga had the advantage in building goals and teaching plans, specifying the requirements to be achieved at each age of children, building educational care methods, orienting investment in building school facilities right at her family's home and preparing all conditions to keep up with the requirements in annual enrollment.
The first national standard private school in the country
Ms. Nga said that since the 2001-2002 school year, the school began investing in building a second facility with an area of 3,500m2.2, at the same time building the conditions of facilities and staff according to the requirements of a national standard school. In 2003, Duc Tri School was recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training as the first private school in the country to meet national standards. This result opened a new and promising direction in the educational career of Duc Tri School. “The school’s continuing goal since achieving national standards is to continue to carry out two tasks: both renovating, improving facilities, purchasing equipment, and performing professional tasks of teaching and learning, building and nurturing a team of quality teachers, creating and promoting the tradition of solidarity, responsibility, creativity and overcoming difficulties among teachers and staff to ensure the quality of teaching, health care and education for students. Laying the foundation for comprehensive human development, taking morality and intelligence as core values creates a premise for Duc Tri School to develop strongly”, Ms. Nga shared. Since 1994, Ms. Le Thi Nga has started to focus on investing in facilities, building new ones, expanding areas, purchasing equipment for all groups of children, kindergarten classes, gradually equipping teaching aids, toys, computers, air conditioners for functional rooms; investing in clean water facilities, sanitation facilities, covered playgrounds and outdoor toys. In particular, the school also invested in building an ecological garden - a practice garden to innovate teaching methods, experience, life skills education, physical education, and environmental protection for students. The good reputation spread far and wide, Duc Tri quickly attracted a significant number of parents to send their children to the school, contributing significantly to the mobilization of preschool children to go to school, reducing pressure on public schools in Hai Chau district and neighboring areas.
Teaching and learning conditions have been favorable, facilities are constantly being renovated and newly built; the management staff and teachers are trained 100% standards, the rate of above standards is increasing. In 2009, to meet the needs of parents sending their children, the school started enrolling primary school students and by 2015, enrolling secondary school students. With the quality of education being increasingly focused and improved, in recent years, many Duc Tri secondary school students have graduated and participated in many competitions such as the city-level excellent student competition, the national and international robothon playground, all achieving high prizes. In particular, many students have passed the entrance exams to the city's top high schools...
30 years of formation and development, with the efforts of the excellent female teacher Le Thi Nga, the tireless efforts of the teaching staff, Duc Tri private school has left many good impressions on parents in the city of Han River. In recognition of its outstanding achievements, the Prime Minister, ministries, central branches and localities have presented many flags and certificates of merit; the President has awarded the Third Class Labor Medal and is currently proposing to award the Second Class Labor Medal to the school, along with many other outstanding achievements.
